1. Work with them to do activities that "Slows them down", They are full of enegy and you have less. This helps with the balance.
e.g.: Drawing, Music, Lego, Reading Books
2. Be Part of their activity by spending time with them, not just instructing them. Be a Friend, Push them - Trust me they are ready to learn... do not take their first NO, find the reason - Fix it and then retry. Works like a charm
3. Make them own their decisions, Punishment if at all should be more time bound - this will help them value time. 1) my favorite : You can read a book for 10 mins or 30 mins of Do NOTHING.
4. We have a rule in our Home, If you want a reward, Good work needs to be done.
No work, No Rewards
5. Play some physical/home based game every week with them
6. We spend the night Being grateful for our life/bhagwanji and reading a wonderful story together.
As they become more Independent - Life becomes easier...
Has it worked all the time, NO - you adjust adapt as per your Kid.
Every Kid is different
7. Make sure their answers, their behaviors, their actions are a result of multiple perspectives, so that they can reason well, understand well and be full of gratitude towards life and the blessings.
